smoking Kenwood Chef?

Hi

My beloved 34 year old Kenwood Chef (model No A701A) started smoking today whilst I was using the K beater to make a cake. There was an awful smell so I decided to finish the cake by hand! Do you know what could be wrong? Would it cost more than its worth to fix? and how to I go about getting it fixed?

With thanks

Hi

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I took the mixer to a Kenwood approved mender, but he couldn't fix it as Kenwood don't make parts for a mixer which is so old. I haven't given up and am trawling through the internet to find an answer. I really, really don't want to buy a new machine as it will never be as good. I was told the motor had gone on it. Hope this helps - don't give up and break your heart!!
