I have a Hotpoint Ultima SDW80 with AL08 fault code. The machine does not finish its cycle - the code appears after washing and before drying cycle commences. Before the code appeared I had to replace the plug fuse twice as they blew and it tripped the mains RCD.

AL06 - Time out - fill
AL07 - Not used
AL08 - Time out - heat
AL09 - Software recogntion error
AL10 - Heating circuit
AL99 - Communications error - connectors, cables etc.
H20 - Time out - fill (taps)
