peugeot 406 LH Indicator not working?

Had car checked by agent and told car needs new computer (over £400). Can I fit a left hand indicator independant of the computer. Any ideas please.

The Haynes manual says the indicators go through the interface (computer) Unfortunately it doesn't show the flasher unit or tell you where it is. Thanx for your help

indicators don't go through a computer.
(components )
battery, ignition switch, fuse, flasher unit (direction arm (L/R))
1 or 2 idiot warning light(s), and 4 bulbs,possible small relay?
first check the bulbs are good left hand side front and back swop them into a tester, or the working side if they work find the earth on the light unit left hand side and clean back to bare metal, now test the supply down to the indicators fault is possibly in the indicator direction arm, replacement will be required (BREAKERS are GOOD)
also check the fuse box for bad/blown fuse
