how can i disconnect my vauxhall astra alarm?

my car alarm keeps going off randomly and goes off at least 3 or 4 times how do i stop this from happending?

on a mk4 the horn is under the plastic by the wipers so no cutting the wire the lights will still go off tho.iv taken mine of but still flashing lol so now iv taken the sounder unit off from under the wing passinger side to see if its the back up gess it was as thay was creoded so now iv got to make up a new power suply.hop this helps.?

Cut the red wire leading into the siren.
It will stop the horrbile noise but it will still let the flashers go.
So it will be a visable deterrant.

Has the alarm been giving a series of short 'beeps' when you turn off the ignition? If so it's probably the back-up battery in the power sounder unit failing.

A weak car battery will also cause false alarms.

Check the contact switch under the bonnet, it may need adjustment or replacement.

The quickest, simplest way to find alarm problems is to take it to a garage with the appropriate diagnostic equipment and have the Alarm Activation Log read, this will tell you which sensor is tripping the alarm.
