During a house move a heavy dishwasher was placed on top of the washing machine and was used once like that. Ever since, with the dishwasher now removed, it will only work on C 60 degree setting and even then the dial has to be moved manually at some point during the cycle.

Don't think the dishwasher has caused this problem.test the heating element as the programs hold waiting for the cycle to get to the correct temperature.No heating means no advancing of the timer at the heating points!
