how do i stop water leaking onto nearside front carpet and footwell,it happens on 2.0 CDi cavaliers

There is a rubber drain tube in the engine compartment right in the middle of the bulk head (just above the centre of the steering rack). Remove and clean it will probably be full of shit from decomposed leaves etc. i had this problem with one of my cavaliers and this completely cured the problem.
