How to replace a sensor on a OPTIMA XM6 HOME ALARM?

I have an OPTIMA XM6 HOME ALARM with a faulty sensor. To date when I set the alarm I omit the zone to which the sensor relates. Thought it was time I replaced the sensor. I am comfortable with removing with sensor and disconecting the wires etc, not so sure whether there is anything that I need to do on the control panel. Any advice\tips would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Optima XM6, why is it throught the country lots of innocent public have chosen to have installed this horrible range of control panel. The Accenta range as well. Get a lighning strike or a power surge, and bang goes your panel.
Scantronic/Menvier, Honeywell Galaxy is where you should be.
