My experience is with a 1998 Lincoln Towncar and rewinding the Regulator spool. Good and bad news; bad news you must pull the regulator out of the car Good news it can be repaired. Take the longest wire and attach it to the spool. Wrap this wire around the spool taking into cosideration you must attached the other wire to the spool. Attach the second wire to the spool and replace spool in carrier. Turn the spool until the sheaths on each wire is located in the carrier and tension is on the wires. It will appear that you need about a half inch more wire to arrive at full tension. At this point use two flat blade screw drivers to slip the wire over a pully. When your finish the wires will be covered with the sheaths and the sheaths will be in the Spool Carrier with tension on the wires
Think the project out; you actually have one wire that is wrapping around the spool and the other end is unwinding as the spool is turned. If the window moves counter to the window switch. reverse the motor wires
