how can i fix my beko cooker?

When i push my main oven knob in the gas comes on.As soon as i let the knob go the gas tuns off.The top oven goes on as with the hobs.Is it worth calling a engineer or buying a new cooker.I have only had the cooker 2 years. The model no is DVG 595.
