Zanussi Dishwasher ZDF 301 - How do I reset the anti-flood device?

Does any body know how to reset the anti-flood device in my Zanussi ZDF 301 dishwasher? I have tried emptying all the water from the main compartment but it doesn't seem to start still.

When I press the start button, it flashes , and then if I keep my finger on the start button, the wash and dry buttons flash at the same time. But nothing actually happens!

Any ideas anybody?

Do you think its worth trying to empty the salt compartment of water?

Does anybody know how to reset the anti-flood device in this machine?

Or could it be something to do with another faulty part?

Thanks Clocker and ck for your responses.

I tried what you recommended but it still doesn't work. I am now thinking that it might not actually be the anti-flood device as my drain pump doesn't make any noises at all when the machine is plugged in.

Do you think it could be the drain pump that is broken? And if so, have you got any ideas if that is easy to do?

When I plug the machine in, the buttons simply flash, but it doesn't make any noises and so not sure what could be wrong?

This worked for my ZDF221.

I simply switched off the machine at the mains, tipped it back so that the front was about 20cm off the floor - mopped up the water that came out, made sure that the drain hose was completely in the drain pipe (I think it had come out which was what caused the anti-flood problem). I switched it on and hey presto, it works perfectly. Thank you ck!

The anti flood systems is a float and micro switch in the base.to reset them you just tip the dishwaher on its back and the water runs out of the base and resets the float switch. As a rule if the anti flood has operated the machines drain pump will run all the time as soon as you plug it in
