Whats this light for?

On a 206 1.9 diesel the warning on the right hand side of the left hand set of warning lights (I think its the break warning light) keeps coming on and off Whats the cure (more break fluid/new shoes or pads or something else)

first check brake fluid level. if it is low find out if it is leaking. need to check all pipes calipers and wheel cylinders. if all ok check brake pads might be low. if ok check hand brake switch underneath handbrake lever. if ok check sensor wires on top of brake fluid resivoir.

1) if the lighter is sort of glimmering when you apply brakes i think the light will get brighter and constant whip the front wheels off and inspect the pads eithe rside, check and see if pads has sensor wires attached this could be bringing light on
2) brake level could be marginal low and sloshing when going round corner allowing the float to drop and temperareally bring on the light
