how can i unlock a diplomat schott ceran hob?

we have diplomat schott ceran hob we turned the clock of on the oven which is seperate, now the hob wont come on at all.
we asked around and we have been told it could be locked and a code needs to be entered to unlock it.

Turn on the hob press the + button (next to the on button) and the minus button at the same time this should unlock it.
