how to replace thermostat in fiat punto?

how to replace faulty thermostat
Lol Shaw, June 2009
Follow the hose from the expasion tank to the r/h side of the engine block.
The hose is attached by a jubilee clip to a rectangular funnel type housing. The housing is attached with 2 M10 machine screws to the engine block.
Undo the screws and remove the housing. The thermostat is located inside the housing.
The housing is sold as a sealed unit with the thermostat already in place. They are on E bay for £7.95 plus p&p
I am not a mechanic and it only took me about 20 mins to remove the old housing. You'll need a socket set with extension bar to get at the screws.
Have not received the new thermostat yet, so job still in progress.
