Little used E418 Trimline x trainer... no power?

Hi,
3 years ago I bought a Trimline E418 X trainer. Having been made redundant recently I decided it was high time (working too many hrs no longer an excuse!) to get into using it properly. I really have only used it a dozen times in the 3 years, so I was horrified when I plugged it in and started moving, that there is no power to the console.
I admit I had to scratch around through many adaptors to find a 6v adaptor. Is any old 6v adaptor that fits the socket ok?(I cant be sure its the original)
I then tried batteries, took them out and tried another 6v adaptor.(the wall socket works ok for other electrical items.)
After such limited use, I cant believe its dead or going to cost me a fortune for callout and parts,... any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

I have exactly the same machine- same problem - no power at all. Does anyone know how to go about sorting out the wire/circuit breaker isssue?

Thanks

Does your belt run? Does the console work for the most part, but just doesn't light up?

If the belt is running and the console buttons respond but just doesn't light up, unforunately you would have to replace the console.

If the belt doesn't run and the console doesn't turn on at all you could have a cheap fix. If that is the case, you could have something as easy as a wire issue or a circuit breaker issue on the treadmill itself. Those are usually cheap fixes.
