How can I stop my electric clutch wire from breaking, Craftsman 917.272?

I have a Craftsman T1750 17.5 42 inch cut that has a switch that turn the blades on. When the button is engaged the blades run for a couple of minutes then the electric clutch spins around and pulls the wire apart and shuts it down.

The electric clutch should be anchored to the chassis, and it should be absolutely NOT be able to rotate. If it can, you have lost a bolt - not unknown.
