my corsa cdti is completely dead ,can it be the battery?

the central locking did not work so i changed the battery in the fob key.It still didn,t work so tried ignition ,everything is dead even the radio ,lights etc

Check battery using a multimeter or buy an electronic battery tester from Halfords etc. These simply clip on to the battery and can tell you if the battery voltage, cranking power and alternator output are OK.
Check all earth leads are securely fitted.
Be careful if you decide to try 'jump starting' the car
using leads and another vehicle, if you get it wrong you can damage the electronics of both cars.

It sounds like a dead battery, but often there is a bank of heavy duty fuses right next to the battery which is worth checking out.
