HELPPPP Active 8 Securitech alarm.

I have now replaced the battery in my alarm. Makes me jump as it instantly starts the arlam going off.

I put in my alarm code. this de-activates the internal alarm, but the external alarm goes nuts!!!

I have no idea about these things and unsure what to do next. There are no toher codes suggested i the manual!!!
I've disconnected battery right now though... because i can't get it to shut up.

Can anyone please help?

Thank you

Thanks to Nick (mentioned below), I have been able to reset a perfectly good Active 5 system which is installed in the house that we bought recently. Thanks to Steve at UKPanels (who sent the manual as a pdf file), I will now be able to use the system too. I am very grateful to them both and also to this forum. The neighbours are quite happy too !!

This has recently happened to me too, always on a sunday between 3am-4am- i thought it was a power surge!!! My alarm works of the mains- i'm unsure if there is a battery in it. I've had to switch the alarm off at the RCD! My alarm goes off when it's not alarmed. Also twice when it's gone off it's the thing outside (small fairly quiet alram), once it's gone off main alarm- which woke me with a start. call manufactor technical helpline: 0345 660533 (or main number) 01527 68111 - i have't tried them yet.. good luck.

Can I just commend this guy - I phoned Nick on this no. 07842 480037 when I had a real problem with alarm going of and being unable to cancel the siren alarm. At no cost to me he phoned me back twice and talked through how to resolve the problem. There are not enough helpful guys like this one and again Many thanks Nick. Regards Rob Ashcroft

Hi Sue, you have an intermitten tamper fault, The Active 5 control panel is more for the diy person, your battery should be changed at least every 5 years, but i doubt this is the reason for the false alarms, I have an ACT battery tester which tells me the condition of a customers battery in seconds, you dont, so change it regardless. At a guess i would say its your bell box tamper, but remember im guessing from this end as i have only got your 3 lines to go on,
I would suggest you call me, as a lot of people do from this site, give me an idea as to where you are, and i might be able to help, otherwise its gonna be a visit from your local rip off alarm company charging you a fortune, so be careful if you choose not to call me.
