Choke and manual help for suffolk punch 43s qualcast?

Hi,
I've got a qualcast suffolk punch 43s, it's the one with the black engine and green casing. I don't have a manual for it and it's a little bit tempremental. I'm not sure how the choke works and what setting it should be on. I was running it for a while without an air filter so this might be the problem, i've now got a new air filter.

On the choke it has A and C with 1 setting between these 2 points, does anyone know what setting this should be on to start and run? If anyone knows where to get a manual that would be great, it's not on qualcast website!!!!!

thanks in advance

Craig

I have the booklets supplied with my Suffolk Punch 43, bought in 1997.
If you're stuck, I could photocopy what I have and post it to you.

my choke on mine works like this with the lever in a vertical plane the choke is OFF
with the lever turned through 90* choke is FULLY CLOSED
this setting is ONLY used in extreme cold weather conditions (best setting is the 45*degree one)

This is how i start my 30 year old still going suffolk

Turn on the fuel, now press the tickler pin on the top of the carburetor body till petrol starts to leak out through the overflow in the fuel bowl, turn the choke flap lever to 45* degree position, open the throttle a tiny bit off the stop block. now pull the rope engine should start first or second pull of the rope.
As the engine warms up the choke lever should be reduced back to the vertical position,( this is usually fairly quickly as the engine will run lumpy)
