Shower - the power (and water) keeps going on and off?

Just had a shower and the power light on it kept going off - hence the water kept going off! A few seconds later it would come back on for a few more seconds then off again. Help!!!!

I think it is to do with pressure as just had a shower just now and everytime the red guage in the pressure window increased the shower shut off. It's a Triton 'ivory' shower. If I keep it on the cold setting it's ok! Obviously I can't live like that though! Do you still think I should contact an electrician instead of a plumber? Thanks

won't be nothing to do with pressure if your loosing power aswell.
its an electrical issue.

what model shower is it ?
does it have a power on light on the front case ?

just cause the pull cord light stays on don't mean the wire from the pullcord to the shower isn't faulty or loose.
its a common problem with electric showers as they draw som much power any loose connections may be blackened where they are arcing.

I just switched it on and it seems ok now although I didn't leave it on for as long as I spend in the shower. The pull cord is in a cupboard outside the shower room and is permanently switched on = all looks ok with that and the light is always on. Maybe a really thick question but could it have anything to do with the time of day (don't laugh!) - I live in a block of flats and usually have a shower before 6am. I've noticed that if I have one later in the day there are problems! Could it be anything to do with others in the stair having showers and pressure etc? I really don't have a clue do I?!

check all the electrical connections in the pullcord/shower.
