HOW CAN I FIX MY HOTPOINT AQUARIUS DF61 DISHWASHER?

My dishwasher seems to be undecided what's wrong...
Sometimes it'll start a cycle, fill with water and then stop, so I thought that the timer unit was fried. Other times the timer unit will go through the whole cycle, but the dishwasher isn't filling with water. There are no kinked pipes anywhere and my filters seem fine. Any ideas anyone?

I have a hotpoint aquarius df61 The dispenser lid is attached to the machine/dispenser with a spring...
However the spring is still attachedto the actual dispenser but is no longer connected to the lid.. the lid has come off .....
I saw the peg that attaches the lid to the spring and it seems worn out... what do I do... the spring is still in good shape

The dishwasher fills up to required level but stops just before it starts spraying the water, the sprayers arent stuck (they still spin okay) but water doesnt seem to getting to them so they can spin.
The pump works - it takes water into the machine & drains it no problem.

to take the cover off: it's the side panel. as you look from the front the one on the left that needs to come off. make sure it's unplugged as there are exposed electrics then undo the two torx screws. you can then unclip it - it took some persuasion on mine but came off and went back on OK

I have a similar sort of problem. Can anyone please tell me how I get the cover off the dishwasher, as I looked yesterday and it is not obvious?

Thanks in advance

This is quite a complicated one to sort out. You need to take the whole cover off the dishwasher. Once removed you'll find on the side of the unit a flat clear pipework system. In side this system is a level sensor that shuts off the inlet solenoid when the system is filled with water. What cn happen is this float can get stuck, fooling the machine that it is full of water so thus no water is added. You will find some black pipes, 3 in total connected to this system, remove these and flush the system through with a hose pipe, take care not to soak the electrics. Put it all back together and hey presto, it should work.. Good luck

Sounds like the flood switch may be operating.

There's a polystyrene float switch in the sump to guard against overfill and leak conditions. This inhibits the fill valve & normally leaves the drain pump running continuously.

Sounds like you've got an internal water leak or your float switch is maladjusted.
