My snapper SR 120 cuts off after a few minitues of running. It acts like it?

My Snapper 120 cuts off after a few minutes of running. It acts like it is out of gas. There is always plenty of gas. The recoil rope was stuck between the shroud and the recoil. When I took it off to fix the rope, I noticed part of the plastic recoil pulley had melted.
Until this year I have had no problems.
Can you help me as I have tried about everything
Below is the numbers off the shroud.
Model 254707 Type 0124 01 code 92022111
I would appreciate any help Thanks

Could be as simple as a blocked vent hole in the fuel cap. After it dies, remove cap. If there is a patial vacuum in the tank, problem confirmed.
