i am having problems with the needles i am using, they have a habit of breaking. i beleive the choice of needle i have is wrong. what would be the best needle to use on canvas, leather etc and where in stoke on trent would i get them from thank you regards joan

I do believe the style is a 16X231, you will need to take a needle to the shop because the other style is 88X1 and one needle is slightly shorther than the other and Ican't for the life of me remember which is which. I can't help with sewing machine shops I am afraid and don't try and use a needle thicker that a size 16 if you can help it otherwise it will be too close to the raceway and likely to dmage it if the needle bends slightly, put talcum powder on leather so it runs through smoothly.
