how to disassemble machine?

my hover electrical cord gets really warm is this going to be a fire hazard?

willis, December 2009
If the vac isn't clogged and motor is working properly, then the thermal overload is defective (common problem). The base and agitator housing has to be removed from the machine to remove the motor cover. The thermal overload is located beside the motor in the orange (or black) wire. I usually splice the new part into the existing wiring, because more disassembly would be needed, which is not necessary.
