how to repair Black and Decker GT250 (41cms) hedge trimmer?

The motor of Trimmer working but blades dont move back and forwards anymore since loaned to neighbour who may have used to cut thick tree branches. Unable to remove small scews holding two halves of plastic body together when trying to locate fault.
