I have been told there are screws to remove the metal where the seal sits but there is none. is there a trick to pushing the seal in to place?

There are two seals: the one on the base of the door has screws. The other one, which runs around both sides and the top, is a push fit into a plastic channel. I replaced both today and the push fit one is quite tricky. I used a screwdriver to push it in to place.
