How can I clean the ink pads on my EPSON RX620?

My Epson RX620 was working just fine until I changed an ink cartridge and got an error message that the internal parts of my printer had exceeded their life span. I suspect the ink pads need to be cleaned or changed but don't know how to get into them.

Nothing in my Quick guide tells how and I am locked out.

you need to take it to a Epson Express centre to get the pads changed. Yes you can get a program to reset the counter but if you don't change the pads at the same time you could end up with ink flooding out the printer and onto your desk!!.

Log on to http://support.epson.com and check the answer to frequently asked questions. Follow instructions to download a utility program to change the ink pad(s) and reset the counter.
