how to get hood working again. ?

I turned the ignition off while the hood was closing. When I turned it on again it stuck in the up position I released it manually by releasing the hood oil reservoir nut. Now it won't work electrically. Any ideas please. The car is 2001 Renault 1.6 cabrio.
