My brake lights stay on on pug 307 02 plate!?

My brake lights stay on on my pug 307, and my ABS light stays on sometimes. Kwik fit tell me it's a brake switch problem but they couldn't find the switch so told me I need to take it to an auto-electrician - but they only open 9-5.

Just googled the same problem and found this website. The answer was spot on, after an hour of thinking our little french friends would have located the switch on the right i found it under the glove box and fixed the problem in 2 minutes. great site, will use it again thanks - kev

I found the answer! My brake light switch had come apart from it's housing. It's on the passenger side beneath the glove box, in the middle and simply slides back into its housing. It's white and looks like a Sat Nav plug and plugs into what looks like a cigarette lighter socket.

Try greasing the number plate. That way nothing can stay on the plate.
if you go to Kwik Fit, that is what you get as they are not mechanics and are only interested in quick easy turnarounds.
I might add that they have daily targets to meet so therefore the advice you get from them isn't always to your advantage.
You will have to bite the bullet and take the time to book an appointment with the electricians if you want it fixed.

Hope this helps.
