Probably the motor brushes are worn. I would put the machine to drain and empty the machine of water. Afterwards, unplug and tilt the machine onto it's back feet and prop it up for safety. Look underneath for the silver lump of metal which is the motor and you will see two plastic units on the end, opposite each other with a couple of wires connected to them.
Use an item of some sorts to GENTLY TAP these two plastic units once or twice each.
Return the machine to its original stance and switch on. Turn on to Spin and if it works, the brushes you have just tapped are worn and need replacing.
