Hello Kristy,
Put a new needle in, you will need a screwdriver and allen keys, you need to take the needle plate off and open the slide plate, take out the bobbin and bobbin case, you now need to get to the bottom of the machine under the raceway,if you have a two piece body machine it is a devil of a job to get it apart, you may have an access slot at the back of the machine behine the raceway instead, once you can get underneath the bobbin case area you will need to slacken off the allen screws on the coned nylon gear, turn the balance wheel towards you so the needle goes all the way down and then starts to go back up again, as soon as it starts to go back up stop, the sharp point of the hook should be just above the eye of the needle, if it is not then with the screws slackened off on the nylon gear you will be able to move the raceway round so the point of the hook is where it should be, just above the eye of the needle, tighten the screws on the gear and put things back and test sew on zig zag, if it still misses stitches you will have to start again, it may take you several attempts, when you start to retime thge machine make sure the machine is set on straight stitch.
