How do I change the back-up battery in my guardtech home alarm?

My Guardtech alarm goes off every time we have a power cut (about 10 times a day at the moment) . The panel shows fb. I need to know how to change the back-up battery

You need to open up the control panel (box) to see what size battery you need. The internal sounder will activate when you open the lid, enter your code to silence the alarm. Pull off the red and black wires connected to the battery and replace with a new battery. MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT IT RED WIRE TO +VE AND BLACK WIRE TO-VE or you will 'blow' the circuit board. Replace lid, reset alarm, job done.

take the front of the main control panel off, put your code in to stop the alarm and see what size battery it has, usually gardtec are 7 amp or 3 amp for smaller panels. just replace the battery, re-fit cover and enter your code twice. any problems contact me james - tarrant at hot mail dot com
