How do I remove a rear wheel from a John Deere 185?

How do I remove the "key" that is used on a rear wheel from a John Deere 185 Hydro? I removed the retainer snap ring and the two washers, but I can't get the key to come out when I try and slip the wheel of of the axle. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

lots of 3 in 1 oil and a big wrench

Spray loads of WD40 in there, and the wheel will eventually pull free...it will just be rusted on. You can then prise the key out of the key way if you want to, but usually we just leave it be.
