how do i fix my Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine?

The belt to my Hotpoint Aquarius Extra WMA44 washing machine has come off. I have removed the top to the washer but can not seem to refix the belt as required. This washer has a 1200 spin. If there is a technique for this proceedure I would be grateful to know.

its doing a a cycle but water is still in the drum

put the belt on the small spindle of the motor first then place it on the large wheel on the drum turning it as you go.
