my son has a vivaro which suddenly lost power, the camshaft sprocket locating key had sheared, causing it to turn on the camshaft.although the bolt holding the sprocket on was very tight.after fitting new one van goes like a rocket. terry. p.s sprocket much cheaper at vauxhall agents.

when driving my vauxhall vivaro the glow plug light comes on and it loses power, if i turn the ignition off and then on again it comes back but still runs flat. i have had the diagnostics plugged in and it says its the boost pressure sensor, so i have replaced it but it still runs the same.

Yo "sky man", Have an 04 Vivaro, was going sweet... at one time.. but have alot of power loss problems... She ussed too sail along like a bird at around 93mph, and a constant load, van and contence around 2.4 tonne, great van!!! then slowly on and off loosing power, gave it a service, as in fresh oil + filter, deisel filter, and air-filter, and added an injecter cleaner to the fuel. Van running well, but still not as sharp...Took it and got linked to computer, which showed no falt.. a little while later she was like an old tranit, (No offence guy's and girls, was once one of the brigade myself... ahhh transit man!!!. lol.) having to drop down a gear a bit to early, feels as if it's not getting the fuel?, or when sitting ticking over see if the engine will rev to just over 3000 rev's if stalls when reving, or slack pick up or does not reach the 3000rev, it is well poss thats its the air flow meter, located behind and attatched to the air filter tubing at rear, cost me £150, Not from Renault.. oh i guess you know that there all made by the french!!!! any how, that cured my problem,, back on track, power back, oh yeah!! ... 6 mths later turbo goes.... priced one from Renault and Vauxhall avg price £930 +vat... ( TOP-TIP )... Check auto traders, parts section, there is a mail order co, in there somewhere, just can remember them. just look out 4 reaulnt parts. Bought one there for £360+ vat. ( GARRET turbo ) you know if the turbo is going when you start hearing a whistleing noise... keep a check on exaust fume colour, if its getting smokey, bluey/ grey, then get home or get a recovery truck!!, If not its well possible that the turbo will, if you continue to drive, the bearing gives or that the turbo is so badly worn it would shatter and be forced into the engine and implode wreaking the engine, SO STOP.! AND GO GET THE TURBO NOW!!! Hope this was helpfull in some way, and not scare the lfe from ya! I still have a power issue, think its a fuel delivery prob, dont want to think of it right now,, down a bit of power.. feeling a bit grittie not as smooth and sweet as she once was... maybe that all comes with age...lol.. will let you know how i get on.! Thats all for now folk's!!
