How do I remove the chuck?

The chuck jaws on my De Walt DC988 Hammer drill do not open or close when I turn the outside of the chuck, it got wet and I put oil on it to loosen it up and now the jaws do not open or close . Thanks. Fernando.

Im afraid if thats the case you will have to get busy with a angle grinder and cut the old one off and replace the chuck, but being careful not to cut into the threads that the chuck winds onto!
