hi ann, that happened to my previous straighteners. I had a loose connection, and some of the ceramic has scratched off. I suggest that you take them back to the shop, if they are recently or quite new, if your garantee hasent ended? If they have been useful for you for ages, at least you have made good use out of them. Buy some new, cheap straighteners from Argos, babyliss, for only £15!!! good deal.. they have a 3 year garantee, pretty good
