I had the same problem, It seems to be a recycling water problem. Mine turned out to be a blockage under the white 'cup' filter at the bottom of the wash area, the foil from a milk bottle got passed the filter and blocked the small outlet holes.
Thanks to Hotpoint for not including al03 in the manual.
