SpeedFight 2 50cc 2003 - Starter Problems?

I cant start my scooter with the start button, I have to kick it. It starts that way in first kick, so there is no problem with the engine. Could somebody tell me what is wrong ? Do I have to replace Motor Starter, is it easy to do for amateur? Please let me know...Thanks

It may not be the starter motor as i had the same problem on my trekker no elec start it maybe the wires coming out of the brake if you can get to youe brake leavers there should be wires coming out of them they will probrably be coverd with a rubber thing take that off and spray it with wd40

not necessarily the same engine as the trekker as the speedfight 50 has a liquid cooled engine fitted to lots of them unlike the trekker which has the same engine as a buxy/speedake/zenith and a few speedfights.MARTIN make sure you are pulling in one of the brakes before you press the start button or it will not work also check to see if the rear light gets brighter when you do pull is as the switches which are needed to complete the starter circuit and light the brake light up often go wrong ok,adam

I think I better take it to the garage, where people know all about scooters. I dont want to mess something up. Anyway I need to get it checked more throughly, so I will not bother doing something myself.
I thought there is like 100% answer to my problem, but obviously not.

Thanks very much anyway! I will definitely be back with some questions. Cheers

This depends on what is wrong with the starter motor or maybe just part of your ignition system. If you intend on changing your starter motor i can try help you step by step but the worst thing about bl**dy scotters is the body panels. The starter motor is fairly simple for an ametuer to change so no worries there, you just got to be careful. Once you've located your starter motor reply back to me in detail what it all looks like, i.e. Connections, bolts etc. as off the top of my head i cant remember what it looks like on a speedfight but if im correct i have a peugeot trekker that im working on at the mo. which i think is an identical engine so if thats the case then ill happily go through the starter motor change with you.
