How do I drain the petrol from a Gilera Runner 125?

Hi - I am trying to get a 125cc Gilera Runner back on the road after it has been stored for about 2 years. It looks in great condition - only 5k miles - not bad for a 1999. It won't start - but am sure it needs a new battery. I will put in into the garage for a service, but I have to get it there first. I also want ot get a better idea of what cost I am looking at to get it going, but the garage won't be able to tell me while it won't start at all and they haven't seen it. in it current state it could need the carburetta draining as well as the brakes sorting if they have seized. Before I commit to spending lots of cash on it i wanted to try and at least get it started if I can. Does anyone know how I drain the carburetta? I can't find any info on the net.

thanks for this info - but can you give me more detail. sort of a start to finish process for draining and then filling. Is it as simple as drain off and then top up with fresh petrol or does the petrol tank need emptying too? I need to be able to do this and add a new battery to see if it is a scooter worth of getting a proper service and mot done on it. trying to minimise my initial costs until I find out if it looks like it is salvageable or not. any help you can give me regarding draining the tank and carb would be great.

the bowl on the bottom of the carb should have a s crew on the side of it. screw it right out.to drain the carb.
