My engine management light on my 2002 Vectra 2.0dti estate has just started coming on when I stop and dip the clutch, whilst at traffic lights or junction. The light soon goes off again once I'm up to 2nd or 3rd gear again. It has never come on whilst the car is in full motion, which, thanks to the internet and forums like this, I am now thinking it is the 'idle air contol valve', as mine only comes on whilst in 'idle'.
I am going to have a go at removing it and cleaning it tomorrow (when it's stopped raining!!!)
I'll keep you posted. Hope it solves it because I have some long trips to do next week and wouldn't want it to cut out or break down on me.

Don't forget to change the engine oil and oil filter. Just as important as plugs and air filter, if not more so.

I think the procedure for resetting your service indicator will be:
Ignition Off
Hold Trip Reset In (keep held in)
Turn on Ignition
Still Hold Trip Reset for approx 12 seconds, the InSP should change.
release trip reset.
switch off ignition
switch on ignition and check.

If that doesn't work, then with your car you *might* also have to press the brake pedal.

Ignition Off
Hold Trip Reset In (keep held in)
Press brake pedal (and keep pressed)
Turn on Ignition
Still Hold Trip Reset and brake pedal for approx 12 seconds, the InSP should change.
release brake and trip reset.
switch off ignition

Let us know if this works OK please
