How can I fix a Simpson Maxidry 1000 Heavy Duty?

In the process of cleaning the lint out of the inside of the dryer
the belt slipped off the tensioning pulley. The pulley bracket and spring also fell off before I had a chance to see where the went.I would a appreciate a diagram to show me how it all sits in place.

The timer does not work, is there an easy way to fix this? And if so how? Thanks

Could u tell or show a diagram what the inside of a Simpson maxidry 1000s looks like as the inside belt has come off the tumbler and not sure wea the spring that holds the belt goes. I hope this makes sense

regarding the last two instructions....10 out 10...full marks...both of those helpful hints got us out of trouble as towhere to place the tension spring...taping the belt to the drum worked like a charm...thankyou...thankyou...thankyou...
our dryer is a Maxidry 1200P..goodluck to others who find themselves in the same unfortunate situation when trying to do the right thing and clean the dryer of fluff :)

Wow this was such great info. My husband has just spent hours trying to work out where the spring went after opening the dryer. I thought we could give it a go and see if there was something on the net. We are so amazed, after reading the replies here it was fixed in a matter of a minute.
Thankyou so much.
Regards
Deb

thank you so much for this info Richard. I also found it frustrating when the belt kept slipping down the bowl so made it hard to mount it on the 2 pulleys but rectified this by temporarily taping it to the barrel in 3 places. Then when the belt is on, take the tape off and slowly rotate the barrel to make sure the belt if the right height otherwise it will just spit off the pulleys again. All this is of course, done with the face of the dryer down.

Andrew,
a parts shop could show you a diagram. I am in process of trying to repair my idler pulley and found your note. The spring latches into the idler pulley into one of the holes provided and the other end of the spring should (assuming your model is similar to my 1200p) latch around a cut out switch attached to the wall of the dryer. The switch is grooved to receive the spring. The idea as far as I can tell is that if the spring breaks the cut out switch parts and turns the heater off. The belt loops behind the idler wheel and then over the pulley wheel on the bottom of the motor. It does not look quite right as in theory the belt could then rub against itself, but when the idler spring engages it pulls one side of the belt away sufficiently, ie no need to diss assemble the idler wheel.
