tumble dryer not heating and water empty light will not go off

pump chamber is full of water / sludge (dryer does not heat when float switch is activated). looking at dryer from the rear open up the plastic compartment at the bottom right hand side and clean out. to test pour some water in and make sure the pump is getting the water to the drawer
