transaxle trouble?

i have a old murray lawn mower with a peerless 930-011 transaxle. one back tire goes forward and the other back tire goes backward. help

if both wheels are off the ground when you are observing this behaviour, it's correct. It's due to the action of the differential.

Drive will be transmitted to both wheels equally, if both are on the ground, and with adequate traction.
