Greasing the mandrels in my Craftsman Lawn Tractor ?

Its model 917.273622. Went to start it the other day and smoke just started shooting out from the deck....realized it had seized up...THEN upon reading the manual found out the mandrels are to be greased. We've owned the tractor for 3+ years..and ive never done anything of the sort...Hell, didnt even know mandrels existed. Now the only problem is..I have NO idea how to do it...Help please!

You need a grease gun. Apply it to the grease nipple on the mandrel (that's the spindle on which the lades rotate), and give 3 or 4 strokes. Problem is......if they've already siezed up, it's too late!
