I have a problem with my Redring Expressions 500s or 5005 electric shower?

Instead of 100% water flowing out of shower pipe and head I have noticed that the bulk of the water is escaping from the bottom of the unit. Having taken the cover case off I notice that the water is flowing from a small black pipe leading from the copper cylinder and this pipe directs the water down and out of the unit adjacent to where the shower flexi pipe screws to the unit. Can you advise what the problem is and what it will take to fix it?

you have to change the pressure relief valve. This is a safety device and is available from the manufacturers you should investigate the reason for it operating probably poor water flow through the shower.

same problem has just happened to me. I'm guesing that a valve designed to stop over pressuring has stuck within the copper heating unit. Put your finger on the black pipe and note that the siphoning effect stops, i.e. air is no longer going back into the unit when turned off. Remedy, no idea yet appart from block the pipe up!!
