water wont heat up on hotpoint washer?

when i put hotpoint washer on to a wash it fills up with water but water doesnt heat up . drum just keeps turning one way then the other

Hot water comes from hot water line...like your faucet. Make sure cold line is hooked to cold faucet, and hot likewise.
