How can I fix my Dishlex 500 dishwasher?

I tipped my dishwasher onto its side to replace the leaky inlet and outlet hoses. Now the solenoid on the inlet hose won't open at the start of the cycle. I've tested the solenoid and it's fine. The problem seems to be with the electrical signal that opens it. I suspect that, what looks like a pressure switch at the other end of the wire is getting a bogus signal from some sort of cup looking device, connected to the sump which I have inadvertantly upset by tipping the dishwasher over. I could be completely wrong. Any ideas how to fix the problem?
