Before you start cleaning the carb, you need to check that the engine is sparking.
take the plug out and fit the plug cap back on and touch it against the metal part of the engine, get someone to pull the pull start and check to see if it sparks.
If it doesn`t then it`s electrical so check your stop switch and wire, usually located near to the throttle cable on the carb.
If it does and yo do need to clean out the carb, to do it proper you need to take it off completely and take off the fuel bowl underneat followed by the float and needle valve inside.
even then they need to be blown out with compressed air if they are blocked but as long as you can get it back together as you removed it then you should be ok.
