timing chain change?

Is it possible to change the timing chain on my 2.2 Astra Bertone without removing the chankshaft pulley? Mine's auto and I can't figure out how to hold the crank still while undoing the central bolt.

Hi Mark, you will have to remove the pulley to remove the covers to gain access to the chain, to undo the central bolt, remove the starter motor and jam a large flat blade screwdriver into the ring gear on the flywheel then you will be able to undo the bolt
