Get in car, close doors.
Turn ignition on (dash lights on but dont start engine).
Press and hold button on key fob.
Doors should lock then unlock - you may have to try it a few times.
Remove key, exit car and check remote operation.
If this doesnt work you'll have to get the remote recoded to the car using a diagnostic machine. Doesnt have to be a dealer, lots of independents can do it and will be cheaper.
You'll need the immobiliser code for this, it's on the "Car Pass" card, which you should have got with the car, it's about the size of a credit card and has all the car codes on it.
